Necropsy Temporary Suspension 12/12/2022 -12/27/2022
CVMDL is working on improvements to our necropsy Laboratory. While we work on those improvements, CVMDL will be temporarily unable to accept necropsy and rabies submissions starting Monday, December 12th. We are hoping to resume normal operations by Tuesday December 27th. Our suggested practice for preserving animals is refrigeration up to 48 hours after death or freezing if it will take longer than 48 hours for the lab to receive the animal. If you have a case of high consequence or a suspect avian influenza case, please contact the laboratory at 860-486-3738, and accommodations can be made.
For human exposure rabies cases please call the Department of Public Health at 860-509-7994.
